shipwrecks

My name is Johnny. I go to college and try to write songs about it. I'm currently reevaluating my life. I also like The Mountain Goats a lot more than the average person.

Okay so I got this idea a couple weeks ago to stitch two rolls of 35mm film together and run it through a medium format SLR. This is the contact sheet from a test roll I shot today. It seems like it works! It was SO hard to stitch the film in the dark. I basically spend a half an hour in pitch black, trying to line this up perfectly and jury rig it to the medium format take up spools. I learned a lot and I think I’ll be able to line it up better in the future!
This gives a pretty neat effect and if I want, I can take the film apart and rearrange it. I eventual want to mix different film types. I think there could be some pretty interesting results!
